OUR CATTERY
Here at Central Valley British Shorthair, we are a new cattery registered with TICA. We are dedicated to breeding pedigree British Shorthair cats that are known for their plush thick coat, calm temperament and classic teddy-bear charm. We focus on health, temperament, and breed standard. We’re dedicated to raising well-socialized kittens who make wonderful family companions. Our passion is preserving the true British Shorthair look while ensuring every kitten gets the best start in life.
Our goal is not just to place kittens in homes, but to match each kitten’s personality with the right family, ensuring a lifetime of happiness for both. When you adopt from us, you become part of our extended cattery family — with ongoing support and guidance whenever you need it.

Meet Zeus and Hera
Zeus and Hera are our cherished British Shorthair breeding pair, raised in a lively, loving home full of family bustle—children laughing, babies cooing, and lots of chatter. This rich environment has shaped them into affectionate, sociable, and friendly cats who truly enjoy human company.
Hera is our playful girl, always curious and exploring, while Zeus is a laid-back gentleman who loves to watch the action unfold. Both are endlessly inquisitive and love spending time outdoors in the fresh air.
They’re well-socialized with other animals, too—Zeus adores our dogs, Oprah and Elijah, and often plays alongside them, while Hera is a bit more cautious, preferring to observe and play from a safe distance.
Car rides are another favorite adventure: Zeus is a devoted lap-napper the entire drive, while independent Hera picks her own cozy spot.
At home, they’re the King and Queen of the bed—expert snugglers who love nothing more than curling up for a good cuddle.
ABOUT THE BREED
British Shorthair cats are beloved for their sturdy, rounded build and irresistibly dense, plush coats. With their signature “teddy bear” look—broad face, full cheeks, and large, expressive eyes—they are as charming in appearance as they are in personality.
Their short, thick fur comes in a wide variety of colors and patterns, making each cat unique.
Renowned for their calm, easygoing temperament, British Shorthairs make wonderful companions for families, singles, and seniors alike. They are typically very good with children and other pets. Affectionate yet not overly demanding, they enjoy attention but also have an independent streak that allows them to be content on their own for periods of time.
This adaptable nature makes them well-suited to many different living environments, from busy households to quieter homes.
